ACR Battery Information

ACR PLBs and EPIRBs are the most common type of battery we service, as they are one of the most popular brands out there. While we specialize in ACR Battery Replacement, we will also replace battery packs for other PLB and EPIRB models such as Ocean Signal (e.g. RescueMe PLB1), McMurdo, and more including Ocean Signal MOB1 beacons. If you have a more uncommon beacon, contact us to find out if we can help.

This is a typical ACR 3 cell battery pack. The white connector on the left is what connects to the circuit board in the beacon, and that connector varies slightly among almost all of the ACR products, so not all packs are interchangeable even though the ‘guts’ are exactly the same.

The ACR ResQlink and ResQlink Plus uses a battery pack that consists of 3 CR123 Battery cells – usually Panasonic brand.

Most ACR EPIRBs use 3 battery packs consisting of 3 CR123 battery cells, usually Panasonic again. These look almost exactly like the battery pack in a ResQlink, but uses a slightly different connector!

Older models use a more expensive and rare LiSO2 battery cell. See our Custom LiSO2 Service for models such as RLB-33 and RLB-27

The ACR AquaLink and AquaLink View use a battery pack consisting of 4 CR123 battery cells. And yet another type of connector.
