Remove the 4 screws holding the 2 halves of the unit together
Separate top and bottom
Unplug batter connector from where it plugs in to the top half circuit board
Remove battery pack
Install new pack and plug connector back in
Clean all joining surfaces of dirt, sand, etc.
Apply silicone grease to the rubber seal
Join the top and bottom, being careful to avoid damaging the seal
Install the 4 screws
Perform a Self-Test on the unit
ACR EPIRB Models: RLB-36, RLB-37, RLB-38
Remove the 4 screws holding the 2 halves of the unit together
Separate top and bottom
Remove 2 screws holding circuit board in bottom half
Remove battery packs by pulling up the battery wires
Disconnect packs from circuit board
Install new packs leaving plug J4 empty on circuit board
Clean all joining surfaces of dirt, sand, etc.
Apply silicone grease to the rubber seal
Join the top and bottom, being careful to avoid damaging the seal
Install the 4 screws
Perform a Self-Test on the unit
ACR PLB Models: PLB-200, PLB-201, PLB-350
Remove the 4 screws holding the 2 halves of the unit together
Separate top and bottom
Unplug batter connectors
Remove battery packs
Install new packs and plug connectors back in
Clean all joining surfaces of dirt, sand, etc.
Apply silicone grease to the rubber seal
Join the top and bottom, being careful to avoid damaging the seal
Install the 4 screws
Perform a Self-Test on the unit
ACR PLB Models: PLB-375
Remove the 2 screws holding the 2 halves of the unit together
Separate top and bottom
Unplug batter connector
Remove battery pack
Install new pack and plug connector back in
Clean all joining surfaces of dirt, sand, etc.
Apply silicone grease to the rubber seal
Join the top and bottom, being careful to avoid damaging the seal or wires
Install the 2 screws
Perform a Self-Test on the unit
McMurdo PLB Models: 200, 210
Flip up top cover
Unscrew the single screw holding on the top cover, and remove cover
Deploy the antenna
Remove the 2 screws and remove top portion of beacon
Pull the internal circuit board and battery packs out of the bottom
Unplug the battery pack connectors
Remove battery packs
Install new pack by sliding up from the bottom with the foil/cardboard connector between the 2 packs
Plug connectors back in
Slide the circuit board with battery packs back into the bottom half of the beacon, being sure to place the board in the slots
Push down all the way – it may be tight!
Replace the top of the beacon and tighten the 2 screws
Curl the antenna
Replace the plastic cover
Tighten single screw holding cover on – careful to avoid breaking the break-away portion of the cover (if it breaks, it can be held with a dab of hot glue)
Perform a Self-Test on the unit

Remove 2 screws under top portion of beacon
Separate top and bottom
Tear or cut tape attached to battery
If necessary, the circuit board assembly can be pulled a small amount out of the top half without damage
